Despite what the public school system tells you, the Grand Jury and Trial Jury have responsibilities in keeping the government in check.
The Grand jury is supposed to prosecute corrupt public servants. The Grand Jury is supposed to refuse to indict people under “bad laws” (a law that is in violation of the Constitution for the United States of America) The Trial Jury is never supposed to convict someone for violating a “bad law”.
If you are on a Trial Jury and the defendant is being prosecuted for violating a “bad law”, the verdict should always be “not guilty”.
